Steve joined NZ Police in August 1988, leaving in December 2018, after 30 years service.

During his 30 year career, 21 years as a Detective working in the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), Steve investigated a wide range of serious crime.

He was on the NZ Police's inaugural Level 3 (Specialist) interview course in 2007, qualifying as a specialist interviewer and since then has been responsible for interviewing victims and witnesses of serious crime. As a specialist in his field, Steve also assisted in training Taupo and Tauranga area staff in Level 1 interviewing skills.

Over his career as an investigator, Steve has become extremely proficient in speaking to and interviewing people from all walks of life, and all processes relating to investigations.

After a varied and rewarding career with the NZ Police, Steve is now a licensed Private Investigator and applying his skills in the specialist area of workplace investigations.

In April 2019 Steve attended training run by the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) in Chicago, USA, where he passed all assessments that teaches the core knowledge and skills necessary to successfully perform impartial workplace investigations. It was at this course Steve expanded his knowledge and refined his skills and now apply these to every investigation he undertakes.
